Technology at Our Clinic

At Kialla Medical Clinic, we embrace the power of technology to enhance patient care. Our practice is fully computerized, ensuring that all medical records are easily accessible to both patients and their treating physicians. This seamless access facilitates a more efficient and effective healthcare experience.

We have integrated systems that import pathology and radiology results directly into your electronic health records. This immediate integration ensures that your doctor has the most current information at their fingertips, enabling timely and informed medical decisions.

In addition, we ensure that immunization records are promptly updated and transmitted to the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register, keeping your child’s health records current and accurate.

Our prescription process is streamlined and secure. Prescriptions are generated in a printed format that is meticulously cross-checked, significantly reducing the potential for errors by either the doctor or the pharmacist.

We prioritize the security of your medical information. Comprehensive security measures are in place, including daily off-site backups of all files, ensuring that your data is protected against all contingencies. Furthermore, historical paper files, some of which date back over 30 years, are stored securely at an off-site location.

By leveraging advanced technology, we are committed to providing you with safe, efficient, and accurate healthcare services.

Test Results

Our doctors have designated specific times for discussing test results. Please refer to our test result discussion schedule.

Recalls & Reminders

We prioritize preventive care and actively engage in efforts to maintain your health. From time to time, we may send you reminder notices about preventive health services that are pertinent to your care. If you prefer not to receive these reminders, please inform your doctor or one of our practice staff members.
Additionally, our practice is part of a recall and reminder system. This means you might be contacted regarding clinically significant results or other important health findings to ensure you receive timely and appropriate care.

Transfer of Patient Files

We have established a privacy policy in line with Australia’s privacy laws to safeguard patient confidentiality. While adhering to these regulations may occasionally result in inconvenience for both patients and staff, it is essential that we follow these guidelines. Sharing information with a third party requires a signed consent form. You can obtain a copy of our privacy policy upon request.

Handling Your Personal Health Information & Privacy

We treat all information shared with your doctor, whether spoken or written, with the utmost confidentiality. Patient medical records are private and can only be disclosed to others with the patient’s consent or by court order. Our practice is committed to ensuring the security of personal health information at all times and restricts access to authorized staff members only. Our privacy policy is straightforward: we DO NOT share your personal information with any external entities. If you decide you no longer wish to receive information from us, simply inform us. We aim to provide information only to those who truly desire it.

Complaints

We recognize that patient satisfaction is crucial to health outcomes and consider patient feedback an essential resource for improving our services. We encourage you to share your suggestions or complaints, as they help us enhance our practice. We strive to address complaints promptly as they arise. Please feel free to submit your feedback to us at office.manager@kiallamedical.com.au. If you prefer, you can also provide feedback anonymously.

According to the Health Service (Conciliation and Review) Act 1987, it is advisable to first attempt to resolve complaints directly with the health service provider. If the issue is not resolved satisfactorily, you may escalate your complaint to the Health Service Commissioner for further action. For additional assistance, the public may contact the office of the Health Services Commissioner.
